Asset Tracking

The features focus on getting assets into your TrackAbout System.

Asset Registration

Asset Classification Structure and Product Codes

These features give you the power to control the life cycle of your assets:

Use State Tracking The system supports an unlimited number of Use States (Statuses) which can be used for the cylinders. This could be as simple as 'full' and 'empty' but could also include 'in quarantine', 'temporarily out of service', etc.

Sort Assets - A step to prepare assets for Filling. Can be used along with Dynamic Forms to enforce Inspections.

Sort Container - This is part of Palletization. Scan assets to associate them with a container/pallet.

Audits

TrackAbout provides mobile tools for conducting audits both internally and at customer locations.

Customer Audit

TrackAbout provides a feature for visiting a customer's location and performing a physical audit of all assets on premises. Such an audit benefits both you and your customers in that everyone is assured that customer balances are accurate.

Internal Inventories

A common business practice is to periodically take an inventory of all of the assets that are in an internal location. Some users will do this every month, some every year, and some just as needed.

Asset Families

Asset Families allow for additional grouping of products beyond the standard Asset Classifications. Asset Families can be used in support of Business rules to regulate actions such as Filling and Valve Use. They can also be used as a more convenient way to do reporting.

Blocking

Assets can be flagged as leaking (or other problems) which causes them to be blocked from certain actions.

Blocking can:

  • Be done from a rugged device or from the website.
  • Be done during a delivery action, or can be done as its own action.

Business Rules

TrackAbout supports many business rules which are enforced in many places. The most common is to say that action X cannot be done unless the cylinder is in status A or B. However, many business rules are supported.

Valve Tracking

TrackAbout clients who track cylinders and medical equipment also sometimes need rules pertaining to the valves used with those assets. TrackAbout provides some functionality to set rules about valves.

Packs, bundles, cradles

Cylinders can be put into a semi-permanent bundle and this becomes a new assets with the cylinders inside of it. Some clients call these "Bundles", “Clusters”, or "Packs". Rather than scanning each individual asset each time this group moves, the 'Make Pack' feature can be used to group these assets together.

Fill Tracking

Fill Tracking allows you to follow your asset through their production phase. Whether the cycle is from dirty to clean, not ready to ready, empty to full, Fill Tracking can provide you with accountability and reporting along the way.

Product Usage Reporting

Quality Control

TrackAbout has a variety of features to test cylinders, create documentation of those tests and recall cylinders if there is a problem.

Condemn or Sell Assets

A process to scrap/decommission old cylinders.

This can be done in a 1-step process or a 2-step process.

Lot Number Tracking

Stopped Assets

Units of Measure

The system supports multiple units of measure and is able to do some conversions between different units. Used in registration and filling.

Asset Transfers

TrackAbout supports various actions within Core Tracking to capture information about assets moving from an internal location

Delivery/Return

This is the process of moving assets from internal locations to customer locations. TrackAbout supports two levels of Delivery functionality, the basic Delivery/Return is included in the Core Tracking Module. Proof of Delivery is a separate module that provides advanced capabilities to integrate the use of Orders from your accounting system.

Branch Transfer

This is the process of moving assets between internal locations. Again, as with Delivery, TrackAbout supports different levels of Branch Transfer functionality, with and without the use of Proof of Delivery.

Receive from Vendor

For receiving full cylinders from vendors. Optionally collects lot/batch number.
