Overview

Reclassify Assets (also often called Change Service) provides a means to reclassify the asset. The user selects the category, group, type and (optionally) product code. Then the user scans one or more assets and saves the action. Change Service is NOT a location-setting action. It leaves the assets wherever they were previously.

The terms Change of Service or Change Service is also commonly used and refers to changing the gas content of a cylinder. ISO References Change of Service ISO 11621

How it Works

One the Website

Tool allows you to update multiple assets (by barcode) to a new Product Code. Reclassify Assets

Reclassification Groups

When using the MobileAction:Reclassify_Assets, clients can set up Reclassification Groups to control the rules for EMPTY cylinders to move between Asset Families.

This method is based on:

  • Client is using Asset Families
  • Client is using UseStates
  • Client is using Empty/Full Product Codes

Note - UseStates.IsEmpty needs to be set correctly for Reclassification Groups to apply appropriate rules for changing Product Codes on empty assets.

With Product Code Generation

When an Empty' Asset is scanned using ConnectedGenerateProductCodes mode of Reclassify Assets (Set in the Client Configuration) the Product Code is generated based on

  1. The Empty Cylinder Product Code Template and/or Empty Bundle / Pack Product Code Template in Client Configuration or
  2. The Cylinder and Bundle Template overrides set up in the Asset Family.

The new Product Code entered is validated against the Asset Family Reclassification Groups to ensure that the new Product Code it is compatible with the original Product Code.
