Overview
Mapping New Product Codes allows you to keep your product line accurate and allows you to group your products together by their asset classifications
Why do you need it
Product codes are essential to the success of your TrackAbout project. Mapping your product codes will allow you to search for and group by your asset classifications. When your product codes are equal to those in your accounting system, it can provide for better accuracy.
How it Works
Mapping New Product Codes
From the dashboard, click on the "View" link to Map new Product Codes. You can also access this page directly, the page is "New Product Codes Requiring Mapping"
Select Product Code
In the product code list, click on the "Remap" link matching the product code to map.
Mapping the Product Code / Edit Type
On this page, you map the product code to a category, group and type. You can also update the other fields.
Editing Existing Product Codes
Bulk Map Product Codes
If you have many new product codes to upload and map, you can bulk map new product codes by using the Bulk Map Product Codes tool
- Type "Bulk Map Product Codes" in to the Jump-To box, or find the link under the Bulk Load Tools tab
- Upload file of new product codes
- Once your file is uploaded, you will be redirected to the Product Code Mappings page
Customizing it for You
Your product codes are customized to fit your assets. You may choose to make it a requirement to have asset type = product code. If you need any of the functionality described under the Customizing it for You section, please contact your TrackAbout Support Team
