Adding Asset Classifications and Product Codes

Adding New Classification

For information on asset classes and classification, consult page XXX

You first need to add asset type, then add the product code. While adding the product code, you will map it to the correct asset type.

Accessing the Asset Classification page

Asset are classified in three levels: Categories (top level), groups and types.

Here is how to configure these. From the menu Trackabout Config, select Asset Classifications TrackAbout Config --> Asset Classifications

Adding a new Group to a Category. Expand the category tree where you want to add the new group:

Add a new Type to a Group. Expand the category and Group tree where you wan to add the type:

Adding a Product Code

A Product Code must still be entered, even if it’s the same as the Type. From the menu Trackabout Config, select Add New Product Codes

TrackAbout Config --> Add New Product Codes

• Enter the Product Code and the Description
• Select the Tracking Status (Default is tracked)
• Choose the Category, Group, and Type from the drop-down lists
• Click the Save button

NOTE: If the needed Category, Group, and Type are not listed, click on the Asset Classifications link to set them up
