Mobile Devices Warranty Information and Repair
The following procedures explain the options available to TrackAbout customers in the event that warranty or repair service is needed on hardware purchased. Please call TrackAbout if you have any questions regarding the procedure to process hardware issues.
Within 30 Days of Purchase
All hardware that doesn’t work properly within 30 days after purchasing can be replaced if you have the original packaging. Please do not write on the original packaging. Contact the salesperson who sold you the device to process the return.

Legacy Inc. repairs all major mobile computers and printers. A preferred-customer repair program has been developed for TrackAbout customers. This program guarantees 3-5 business day turnaround. Contact Legacy’s National Corporate Account Manager, Megan Quinn (contact below) and mention that you are a TrackAbout customer. To expedite repairs, fill and fax back to Legacy the Repair Authorization and the Credit Card Authorization forms which must accompany each repairs. Forms are below.

Denso USA Handheld Windows CE and WM
Intrinsically Safe
Mobile Units including the Motorola MC 9500 and MC 9000 both meet or exceed Palm Device intrinsically safe rating which is Class 1 Division 2.
Class
Class l Areas in which flammable gases or vapors may be present in sufficient quantities to be explosive or ignitable.
Class ll Areas made hazardous by the presence of combustible dust.
Class lll Areas in which there are easily ignitable fibers or flyings present, due to the type of material being handled, stored or processed-but in which such fibers or flyings are not likely to be in suspension in the air in quantities sufficient to produce ignitable mixtures.
Divisions
Division 1 - Normal Situation: A hazard is present in the everyday normal production operation or during frequent repair and/or maintenance activity.
Division 2 - Abnormal Situation: Potentially hazardous material is expected to be safely confined within closed containers or closed systems, and will be present in the atmosphere only through accidental rupture, breakage, or abnormal operation.
Groups
Group A, B, C & D Gases and vapors in Class l locations are classified into four groups, by the code A, B, C, and D. These materials are grouped according to the ignition temperature of the substance, its explosion pressure and other flammability characteristics.
Groups E, F & G Combustible dust in Class ll locations are classified according to ignition temperature and t he conductivity of the hazardous substance.
End of Life Notice
Palm Device
As of August 1st 2012, TrackAbout has stopped support of the Palm OS handheld devices. After this date, TrackAbout will begin charging $200 per support incident for help inquiries related to Palm OS handheld devices. Due to the difficulties and prohibitive cost of supporting and maintaining aging hardware that is no longer manufactured nor supported by its vendor (Motorola Solutions)
