==Overview==

Some companies have a large number of small value, consumable items which they do not want to track uniquely, but which they would like to scan on delivery tickets to the end customer. Due to the large quantity and low value of these assets, the time it takes to register these assets is not worth the effort.

Auto Classify allows an asset to be automatically classified based on the prefix of the barcode being scanned. This eliminates the need to do a registration action on an asset. The first time the prefixed barcode is scanned with any action, it is automatically classified.

==How it Works==
You will need to work with TrackAbout Support to provide Auto Classification mappings. We will need to know what barcode pattern = which product code/asset type.

For the Prefix Pattern: A regular expression (regex) pattern must be created. This likely requires developer involvement. The developer will need to know what the prefix is, how many characters to allow after the prefix ("no limit" is an option), and whether the characters after the prefix are alpha, numeric, or alphanumeric. At this time, there is no validation pattern.
